Chris Head, Principal Associate, Socitm Insight
Chris is Principal Associate with Socitm Insight, the research arm of the professional society for public sector ICT managers, and a visiting tutor in Managing Information at Henley Management College.
Chris has written many publications for Insight, including A marriage of convenience?, on public sector outsourcing practice, and most recently Shared services: bigger, cheaper, better? Chris is particularly concerned with the transition from the industrial age to ‘digital literacy’, and the risks organisations face from the legacy of industrial age thinking at senior management level. Chris also edited Socitm’s report on Green ICT.
At Henley, Chris specialises in public sector ICT, and strategies to exploit the value of organisation’s information assets. He won the joint Harvard Business School/Cranfield University award in 2002 for his paper on systems development at the London Stock Exchange. As a pro bono activity, Chris helps to run Socitm’s annual conference for public sector ICT managers.
