Stuart Mitchenall Head of ICT, Tandridge District Council

Stuart is a member of the Management Team at Tandridge District Council, holding portfolio’s for e-Government, partnership and Customer Services. He manages the IT, media and facilities operations for the Council. He has worked in the Public Sector 30 years, having been a Civil Servant with DWP for 20 years before joining Tandridge. Large scale Transformation has been a feature of his career, starting with the Local Office Project in DHSS before assisting the introduction of Computer Aided Personal Interviewing into major government surveys. More recently major business change at Tandridge has been his focus.

He is currently developing Tandridge District Council’s Customer Services programme, which he believes must meet local perspectives as well as meeting more general requirements of Government. Although a technologist he believes the answers to transformation lie in rather more philosophical considerations. He has been involved in at least five (arguably) shared services projects, and he sees shared services as a logical extension of the wider process of change.
