Julian Morley, Director, LIFT SW RIEP (Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnerships)
Julian Morley has been in post as Director of the South West Centre of Excellence since November 2004 with a team of eight programme managers and two admin staff.
Julian joined the Centre directly from the private sector after many years experience working in blue chip companies like Mars, GB and Hewlett Parkard. Immediately before joining in the Centre Julian was principal management consultant for six years for a consulting company PRTM based in Abingdon working in supply chain, supply chain planning, procurement and partnership working.
Julian is an ardent believer of driving efficiency while increasing customer service at the same time. He also believes that partnership working is key, but only when there is a clear business case and keen strategic alignment between the parties. He also recognises the need for organisational change and reskilling within local authorities to manage partnership working, particularly with third-party providers.

Julian is a graduate of Cambridge University, a Chartered Engineer, has an MBA from Ecole Europeene des Affairs in Paris, is a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering and is a Sainsbury Management Fellow. He lives with his family in the heart of Dorset.
