future - Facilitating beneficial use of technology to ensure the future viability
and success of London
Stephen Fellowes, Shared Effectiveness Consultant, London Connects
Stephen will update participants on the developments with the exciting pan-London project of connecting London boroughs to the London Public Service Network (LPSN). Some 21 boroughs have now given London Connects a Letter of Intent to connect and there are more promises on the way! Six of these boroughs are now physically connected to the network and about to commence proof of concept trials. A joint local authority network could make the difficult task of sharing managed services a reality. London Connects have also finalised negotiations for an N3 gateway between the LPSN and Health Services. Testing of the live service should in March 2007. This gateway should provide a robust managed solution with prices at or below that of a local connection.
