Mobilising local authorities to increase productivity and deliver better services
With the advent of high speed wireless connectivity and innovative communications technologies, most local authorities agree that mobile and flexible working will help to improve services and operate more efficiently.
However, whilst many authorities are already planning or piloting the use of mobile working to support transformation and efficiency, most are still at the early stages of wider scale adoption and implementation.
Mobile Working '09, organised by the publishers of e-Government Bulletin, is a best practice exchange event that brings together local authority executives to share experience on implementing mobile solutions and to meet with suppliers of the technologies now being used to deliver better public services and improve staff productivity.
Sharing best practice across local authorities is always important, particularly on issues such as implementing mobile technologies, which involves adapting to new ways of working.
The networking event includes a wide-ranging programme of roundtable discussion groups, where local authority executives can share their experience on implementing mobile working solutions.
