Mobile and Flexible Working in the Public Sector

The Transformational Government Agenda requires public bodies to ensure their services are focused on the citizen, and mobile and flexible working practices can help hugely in attaining this goal. Mobile working helps staff work out and about in the community, literally closer to the citizen; and flexible working practices ensure that services can also be delivered in flexible ways, 24-7, as the citizen requires. Add to this the constant need for productivity gains and efficiency savings, and the savings in recruitment and retention costs; rationalisation of buildings and land; and productivity gains made possible by mobile and flexible working become a necessity.

E-Government Bulletin's second annual conference in this field weaves together the threads of this vital topic. Come along and hear how you can play your part in instilling flexible working practices in your own organisation, helping your top management team, your organisation as a whole and your service improvement goals. Hear tips from those who have implemented flexible working programmes, and find out what legal and other pitfalls to avoid.
