Robin Waters, AGI INSPIRE Working Group Chairman

Robin has operated as an independent consultant since 2000 after a career in surveying, mapping and geographic information with Ordnance Survey, Laser-Scan (now 1Spatial), Pearson's (GeoInformation International) and Experian Goad. He has consulted to the World Bank, the EU, several UK government departments or agencies and private sector clients in the UK. He has had a particular interest in the use and abuse of spatial information, its provenance and quality. He has been involved with pan-European data issues since the mid 1990s and has followed the prolonged conception and continuing gestation of the INSPIRE Directive for clients and for the Association of Geographic Information (AGI) where he now chairs their Working Group on INSPIRE. Robin is the Features Editor for GIS Professional, secretary of the AGI Standards Committee (BSI IST/36) and is a Chartered Surveyor, Geographer and IT Practitioner.
