I studied Environmental Science at the University of Ulster (1990-94) graduating with a BSc (Hons) in 1994. I then undertook a DPhil in Environmental Studies (applied remote sensing) at the University of Ulster (1994-97) graduating in 1999. From 1997-2001 I worked in the Farming and Rural Conservation Agency, an ex MAFF agency. From 2001-2006 I worked in the Defra Rural Development Service Geographic Information Unit. Since 2006 I have worked in the Defra Geographic Information co-ordination team. I am the UK policy lead on the European Commission's INSPIRE Directive. I am a member of the Intra-governmental Group on Geographic Information (IGGI) Steering Group and have been a member of the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society since 1994. I am also a member of the Association for Geographic Information.
