Lynne Featherstone MP, Liberal Democrat, Hornsey and Wood Green
Lynne Featherstone is MP for Hornsey and Wood Green and Youth and Equalities Spokesperson in the Lib Dems' Shadow Cabinet.
From 1998-2006 she was a councillor on Haringey Council, where she was Leader of the Opposition 1998-2002. Lynne served on the London Assembly 2000-05, during which time she chaired the Transport Committee. She served as number two in the Liberal Democrat Home Affairs team in Parliament and the party's London spokesperson, before being promoted to the party's Shadow Cabinet as International Development spokesperson in December 2006. In December 2007, after Nick Clegg's election as party leader, she switched to the role of Youth and Equalities Spokesperson.
Lynne's blog was a runner-up in the Guardian's political blog of the year awards 2004. Her blog has also twice been nominated for the New Statesman New Media Awards and won the Campaign for Gender Balance's Best Female Blog (People's Choice) category in 2008. It was rated the fifth best blog by an MP and the sixth best Liberal Democrat blog in the 2008 Total Politics magazine poll.
