Dan Jellinek, Founder, Headstar
Dan Jellinek is Managing Director and Founder of Headstar (www.headstar.com), a publishing, research and events company focusing on technology and social issues including e-government, e-deomcracy and access to technology by people with disabilities.
Headstar also carries out work for the Parliamentary IT Committee (PITCOM), writing briefings for MPs and Peers on technology policy. In 2008 Headstar became a founder member of PEP-NET, a European Commission-funded network of organisations working in the field of e-democracy.
Dan is a journalist and publisher with more than 15 years' experience, having contributed extensively to the Guardian and BBC Online. In 2001 he was a co-founder (with Tom Steinberg, James Crabtree and Derek Parkinson) of VoxPolitics, a think-tank set up to examine the use of the internet in elections. Dan is voluntary chair of the Sussex Community Internet Project (www.scip.org.uk), a non-profit body helping community and voluntary groups use ICT.
