Conference 'Hashtag' for social networking: #EACCESS10

E-Access Bulletin's sixth annual conference and exhibition on access to technology by people with disabilities, e-Access '10, took place on 13 July 2010 at Olympia 2 Conference Centre, London.

The event was co-hosted for the first time by OneVoice for Accessible ICT Coalition, the UK's leading umbrella body for organisations promoting access to technology by all.

These days, all organisations use technology, from websites to internal ICT systems. And in tough economic times, ensuring all your customers, service users and staff are included in everything you do is more vital than ever.

Our event offered a packed programme of interactive sessions, workshops and case studies to help organisations of all sizes begin or improve their track record on accessibility. See the programme page of this website for more details of last year's superb event - this year's programme is now in planning, watch this space. and see below for a range of feedback responses from people who attended - high praise that speaks for itself:

“This was my third e-Access, and each one has been better than the last. The range of topics and quality of speakers is exceptionally high. I cannot think of any specific way of improving the event.”
David Fatscher, Sector Development Manager, BSI - British Standards Institution

“The event was extremely useful and has given me some ideas for areas where my company needs to focus its efforts. I was also able to establish links with similar organisations in regard to accessible IT.”
Brad Andrews, IT Manager, Morgan Stanley

“The electronic Personal Agenda and ability to book meetings with people before the event were superb additions to what's always a good event.”
Jonathan Hassell, Head of Usability & Accessibility, BBC Future Media & Technology

“Really glad I came, learned a lot and made good contacts.”
Neville Brownlee, Head of Charity Commission Direct, Charity Commission

"Make it compulsory for IT professionals! It was a long and interesting day, and now I feel I have a sufficient understanding of the main current accessibility issues, and had an update on the latest IT technology, to make a basic plan of where to start or at least where to look. I found the event well organised, and...I can't really think of a particular aspect that I would change."
Jon Sayce, E-Communications Assistant, East Sussex County Council

“I found the organisers, site staff and attendees very helpful and friendly indeed. There was much to hear and discuss, and plenty of opportunities to do so.”
Howard Leicester, Independent Researcher
