Janet Sillett, Local Government Information Unit
Janet Sillett is a policy analyst in the Centre for Service Transformation, covering themes such as developing responsive services, shared services, innovation and front-line service delivery.
Her major project this year has been to work with the Local Government All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on its inquiry into services for older people. She wrote the APPG's final report, Never Too Late for Living, which was published in July 2008. The inquiry is being followed by further parliamentary work in the run up to the green paper on older people. The Centre is developing work around access to services, information and decision making for older people.
Janet has previously worked extensively on housing and finance and still produces policy briefings on these subjects. She has recently produced a policy intelligence briefing on the effects of the credit crunch on housing.
