Plenary panellist: Sarfraz Khan, Senior Legal Officer, Disability Rights Commission

Sarfraz has worked in the Legal Department of the DRC - a statutory body charged with promoting equality of opportunity for and eliminating discrimination against disabled people - since its creation in April 2000 and he has over 10 years experience in the field of
anti-discrimination law.

The DRC supports strategically important legal test cases usually brought under the Disability Discrimination Act, and Sarfraz has had conduct of a number of such cases ranging from those heard at first instance in tribunals to appeal cases before the Court of Appeal and House of Lords. Sarfraz has also drafted and assisted in drafting a number of DRC produced statutory codes of practice explaining the anti-disability discrimination duties
