Workshop: Licensing Information And The Point of Single Contact

A European Services Directive required countries to set up a Point of Single Contact (PSC) to enable businesses to apply for licences and permits online. Pierre Morel of BIS will update you on how this project is developing in relation to local business obtaining licensing information and services in a single place, including deep links via LocalDirectGov to relevant areas of Councils' websites.

He will host a discussion oriented towards:
- what information should figure on a council's own site?
- how this fits within the Point of Single Contact: LocalDirectGov
- information ownership (need to keep information up to date)
- plain English (where English is not the user's native language)
- the opportunity to promote your area: local development agenda
