Workshop: WCAG 2.0 and
new approaches to accessibility
Panellists: Robin Christopherson, Head of Accessibility Services, AbilityNet
Peter Abrahams, Accessibility and Usability Practice Leader, Bloor Research
The new international WCAG 2.0 guidelines for accessibility of websites to people with disabilities and all users are similar to the old version 1.0 of the guidelines, but with several key changes. What are the similarities, what are the differences, and what are the key issues to look out for to make sure your website still complies?
Robin Christopherson will offer practical advice on ensuring your site is accessible to all, a legal and moral obligation. And Peter Abrahams from Bloor Research will present the findings of a brand new study carried out with Headstar, co-organiser of building perfect council websites, on drivers of accessibility plus barriers and challenges and how they can be overcome.
