Tim Chalklen

Tim has worked with many public sector clients since 1995, when Unified Solutions was established. Engagements over that time have ranged from consultancy on technical procurement (particularly with regard to content management systems), design and implementation of complete Council websites & Intranets with the appropriate technology through to usability design and front end application design.

The rush to procure technology and build websites to satisfy IEG before 2005 has led now to a large-scale unraveling of bad procurement decisions or failed projects where the customer is left with inflexible, or poorly supported solutions. Tim is currently engaged with a number of Councils to help identify a way forward and a way to recover these situations and to also discuss effective use of user generated content, a more user-centric design for Council websites and how to apply technology to significantly reduce operational costs.
